Lara Fowler to Speak at Penn State's Sustainability Leadership Forum
Penn State's own Lara Fowler will be speaking at the first Sustainability Leadership Forum Event on February 24
Smeal College of Business continues to present the Penn State community with premier access to thought leaders in sustainability, this time around with the launch of the Sustainability Leadership Forum. Starting off on a strong note is Penn State's own, Dr. Lara Fowler. Fowler's session will take place from 9-10:15 a.m. on Feb. 24 in room 217 Business Building.
As a Penn State student, I am personally looking forward to hearing about how Fowler’s career journey and experiences are shaping her contributions to sustainability efforts at Penn State and what she hopes to see in the university’s future. With her knowledge of previous success stories and history with the Penn State community, I’m confident she has much to contribute to our sustainability journey.
Fowler's discussion, “Sustainability 3.0: What’s Happening Now and What’s Next for Sustainability at Penn State?” seeks to discuss the advancements that have occurred in the past 10 years of the Sustainability Institute while also taking a critical look at where we must go from here.
Fowler is no stranger to the Penn State Community. She previously served as the assistant director for outreach and engagement for the Penn State Institutes of Energy and the Environment and holds teaching experience at Penn State Law. Fowler currently serves as the interim chief sustainability officer for Penn State, the interim director of the Sustainability Institute, and a Professor of Teaching for Penn State Law. Prior to her time at Penn State, Fowler worked as a mediator, facilitator and lawyer for a private law firm where she worked on groundwater storage in the greater Los Angeles area and flooding issues in the Chehalis Basin, the largest river basin in Washington State.
Fowler is a dynamic speaker who has done a deep analysis of where Penn State is in the sustainability space and is developing plans for what comes next. Attendees can look forward to benefits including:
Knowing what is next in sustainability for Penn State University
Connecting with other university leaders on sustainability
Learning about sustainability initiatives in the Smeal College of Business
Great snacks, takeaways, and information on sustainability initiatives at Smeal
